Things My Wife Said

Greetings,

I suppose you’re wondering why I called this post … “Things My Wife Said”. (she said you’d say that.)

We’ll, I have been married 35years as of April 1st, 2013, and if I’ve learned one thing, I’ve learned that there is truth to the saying “In This House, If Mama Ain’t Happy, Nobody’s Happy”. Several of you receiving this know Teresa, my wife. Hear me out.

I am currently 55yrs old. (right in the middle … young to some and ancient to others) And over the years I have observed that the reason most people split up …

(and given that there are a multitude or reasons behind divorces and broken relationships)

the underlying factor was …

Mama wasn’t happy …

and in turn …

Daddy wasn’t happy either.

I don’t have the exact statistics, but I would bet that Irreconcilable Differences is the #1 reason filed in divorces. That’s the only category that would apply for … “He’s an A$$” and “She’s a Bi-ach” because they don’t really know why the marriage didn’t work out. That doesn’t have to be if you follow 1 simple rule.

Make her (or him) happy.

Did you miss it? Go back and re-read it … I’ll wait.

Make her (or him) happy.

When the subject of my 35th Wedding Anniversary comes up, (this whole year that’s been happening. I know, weird right?) people usually say something like … “Wow, congratulations! What’s your secret?” The only answer I have is … “Beats me. I’ll let you know when Teresa tells me.”

But in reality, all she and I have ever done is try to make each other happy. Sometimes it’s easy, and sometimes it’s not … sometimes it’s a little weird, and sometimes it’s not. Accept differences. You married her (or him) and at a particular time in both your lives, you were happy with each other.

As life happens, things are going to change. If her (his) change is still within your morals and legal … accept it, go with it, and be happy with them. Make each other happy and you’ll not only have a supportive partner by your side, you’ll also enjoy conversations with each other, you’ll have a “1+” at social events, and you’ll find you have the best kind of friend …. WITH benefits!

But I digress.

Enough with the marriage counseling. That’s not why we’re here is it?

We are here to see why a seemingly manly … dare we say, bad ass at times, would be so whipped as to have a page on his testosterone filled fitness website titled …

“Things My Wife Said”

Well, if you have to know … she’s pretty smart at times, and is a good judge of character. (I might be a little biased on the “good judge of character” part)

So she says to me … “Whatever happened to those pictures you had made? Are they on your website? You should put them on there.” (They are not on my website, they are on my Facebook page.) So she says … “You should use those pictures and post them on the website, because when I give out your card (she’s my best supporter), and tell people you’ve gained weight and muscle, they should be able to see you. Your card doesn’t have your Facebook page on it, it has your website.” (did I say she can be pretty smart at times?)

Background: I had some promotional pictures made a while back by a professional photographer (and I might ad, a very artistic and creative individual), Mr David Goff of www.dgofforiginals.com, that show me in a gym doing some exercises. I haven’t really done anything with them that I intended to do except add to a marketing video that I made to give to businesses.

Even though I’m not really sure where this will go, I am willing to humor her and say “Okay dear, I’ll post them this weekend and see what people think of it.” (and why would I do that, you say?)

IT MAKES HER HAPPY

Our home is at peace, and I’m happy.

But, I digress

She’s right … again. I don’t know why I haven’t posted them before. Modesty, I guess. (yea, that’s it) I intend to use pictures from that photo shoot for form and exercise instruction of some of the most common exercises I see people doing incorrectly in the gym. Got busy creating other things, training clients, making awesome boot camp programs; and I haven’t made the time to create and post any exercise videos lately.

So check back in a little while and I’ll post the first of a series of exercise videos and pictures. This information will hopefully give you a little better insight on how to lift responsibly, and not injure yourself simply due to bad form.
